In this workshop kids aged 8-11 years old will learn how to make a 2d game using Python and Pygame Zero.

They will learn how to code Python, make a game with Pygame Zero and learn how to fix errors within code.

💻 What will your child learn?

• The basics of Python

• How to make a 2d game

• Understanding how to fix bugs and errors

• How to use x and y coordinates

🕰️ Schedule

Mon 12th January 2-5pm - Learn Python and Pygame Zero

• Set-up VSC/Mu Editor and Github

• Introduction to Python

• Introduction to Pygame Zero

• Choose optional game for day two

Tue 13th January 2-5pm - Code/Create game

• Learn how to make the game Flappy Bird

• Test Flappy Bird

• Share characters for chosen optional game

• Code chosen optional game

• Test chosen optional game

• Windows or MACOS Laptop

• Water bottle

• Snack

• Mouse (optional)

• Fun, Creativity and Curiosity!

• Visual Studio Code (https://code.visualstudio.com/download)

• Mu Editor (https://codewith.mu/) (recommended)

• Python (https://www.python.org/downloads/) (required)

• Please chose whether to use Visual Studio Code or Mu Editor, only one is needed.

Suitable for boys and girls ages 8-11. No prior knowledge required. Class size is limited to 10.
