Celebrate the winners of the Aurealis Awards at GenreCon.
Australia's premier speculative fiction awards have joined forces with the leading conference for genre fiction writers; the Aurealis Awards have a new home at GenreCon 2026: Inkling. With a 30 year history, the Aurealis Awards are for writing in the genres of science fiction, fantasy, horror, young adult and children’s fiction.
Join us for a night of celebration as the winners of the Awards are announced. The proceedings will be hosted by award-winning speculative fiction author and GenreCon alum Eugen Bacon.

About Eugen
Eugen Bacon is an African Australian author. She’s a Solstice, British Fantasy, Locus and Foreword Indies Award winner, a twice World Fantasy and Shirley Jackson Award finalist, and a finalist in the Philip K. Dick, Victorian Premier's Literary and Ignyte Awards, and the Nommo Awards for speculative fiction by Africans. Eugen is an Otherwise Fellow, and was also announced in the honor list for ‘doing exciting work in gender and speculative fiction’. Danged Black Thing made the Otherwise Award Honor List as a ‘sharp collection of Afro-Surrealist work’.
